To give scholars an opportunity to express their views and interact with other scholars, ICPR organises national and international seminars every year on a variety of themes in philosophy and interdisciplinary studies. It also gives grants to philosophy departments of Indian universities and research institutions to organise seminars, symposia, workshops and dialogues.
The Council has linked its publication programme with the seminars so that important papers can be published by the Council if found suitable; some of the most outstanding papers appear in the Council’s journal, JICPR. Every year the Council receives a large number of requests for partial assistance and supports 25 to 50 such seminars annually.
