The Council is the implementing agency for bilateral cultural exchange programmes with foreign countries that have philosophical content, encouraging exchange of views among scholars in philosophy and related disciplines.
Indo-French Cultural Exchange Programme
An ongoing programme of the Government of India in which ICPR, UGC, ICSSR and ICHR take part; on the French side the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (MSH) is the coordinating agency. Every year ICPR sends one scholar to Paris for a month, with a work plan on a French philosopher, or on Indian philosophy with some influence on French philosophy or vice versa. The Research Project Committee or the Chairman nominates the scholar. Indian institutions bear the air travel; MSH provides €1,800 and medical insurance for the stay.
